Guilt-free snacking

Want to save animals and help the planet, but not ready to give up your favorite snacks?

Sadly, a lot of packaged snacks have animal products – like lard – lurking in them. Fortunately for you, there are plenty of foods at your local, big name grocery store that are 100 percent free of these animal by-products.

One of the most common misconceptions about vegetarians/vegans is that they have to eat really weird foods (cue the scene in Baby Mama where Kate and Rob share that awful yeast bowl). You don’t have to eat yeast bowls. These snacks are things that you probably already have at your house!

Cereal and granola bars:

  • Life (cinnamon and original)
  • Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch
  • Nature Valley crunchy granola bars
  • Nature Valley trail mix chewy granola bars
  • Most Kashi and Cascadian Farm Organic cereals
  • Clif bars
  • Luna bars
